Comparison
Unloq and Cloverpop compared
Unloq and Cloverpop both recommend what to do and record each decision and its outcome. Cloverpop fits organisations that want commercial planning software or an operating-model programme alongside their decision platform. Unloq fits businesses that want it inside their own AWS or Azure tenancy, with odds checked against their history and a person approving every decision.
Unloq and Cloverpop at a glance
Cloverpop | Unloq | |
|---|---|---|
Connecting to data | D-Sight links “structured and unstructured data sources”, from “POS and financials to research, forecasts, and human input” (D-Sight) | Read-only connections, including HubSpot, Salesforce, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and Shopify, plus MCP connectors, with emails and Slack messages beside the numbers |
Why a number moved | Watches for “early warning signals such as demand shifts, supply disruptions, or competitor activity” and prompts decisions “to quickly attack root causes” (platform); CloverPlan breaks forecast outcomes down by driver (CloverPlan) | Ranks the drivers of a change by their share of it, each calculated from your data, and alerts whoever owns the number |
Forecasting and planning | CloverPlan, a planning and forecasting product for commercial teams, with scenario modelling across levers (CloverPlan) | Shows where a number is heading if nothing changes, as a range with a central point, from whichever of several models has the best record |
Recommending | D-Sight, “Cloverpop’s proprietary agentic decision engine”, gives leaders “explainable recommendations they can accept, adjust, or override” (D-Sight) | Ranks options by how likely each one is to work, tested against your budgets and limits, with odds checked against your own history. Where that history is too thin, Unloq gives no number |
Approval and governance | Routes approvals “to appropriate human stakeholders and AI agents” and embeds “permissions, policies, and audit trails by design” (platform) | A person signs off every decision, and Unloq records the approval with the outcome you expected. Each answer carries a grade of pass, warn or block |
Recording decisions and results | Captures every decision in the Decision Bank, “tracking rationale, data sources, and outcomes”, with feedback loops that adjust models (platform) | Each decision keeps the outcome you expected at approval and is measured against a do-nothing baseline agreed before you act |
Getting started | A demo request on its platform page (platform), and Decision-Back, a transformation methodology, for organisations redesigning around their decisions (Decision-Back) | A first project built around one decision, typically 3 to 4, 5 to 6 or 8 to 10 weeks |
When is Cloverpop the better choice?
Cloverpop is the better choice when you want commercial planning software or an operating-model programme alongside your decision platform.
Your planning is commercial planning. CloverPlan is built for commercial teams, with scenario modelling across levers (CloverPlan).
You want an operating-model programme alongside the software. Decision-Back, Cloverpop’s transformation methodology, redesigns a function or organisation “around the decisions that create the most value” (Decision-Back). Unloq starts with one decision, so if a wider redesign is what you are after, Cloverpop offers more of it.
You want your decision logic mapped. Cloverpop’s Decision Graph aims to “capture the semantic layer of how your business thinks and decides” (platform).
You work in consumer goods or pharmaceuticals. Cloverpop’s About page names consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, retail and technology as the industries it serves (About), and its homepage publishes case studies with results (homepage).
When is Unloq the better choice?
Unloq is the better choice when you want the platform inside your own cloud and want each answer to arrive with the plan and the query that produced it. Running Unloq inside their own cloud came up with several companies in our introductory calls over the past year, and one made it a condition that its data stay inside its own tenant. If your data policy requires UK or EU residency, ask both suppliers where your data will be stored first.
Each figure Unloq shows is produced in code, and every answer arrives with the evidence behind it. Before you act, you and Unloq agree what would have happened anyway, so the result can be measured against that agreed baseline. Unloq can only measure actions it can see, so the decision has to be logged in Unloq.
Both products keep decision records, so compare the records themselves. Ask both suppliers to walk you through the record each would keep for one of your recent decisions, from sign-off to result.
Questions we get asked
Book a demo or ask a question
We are happy to run the demo on a real decision from your business, ideally one you would want on the record. Questions about a single point are welcome before that.
